Nail technicians, also known as nail techs, use trendy designs to make nails stand out.
Students who pass the state board exam find employment as nail technicians in spas and nail salons.
The manicurist program is designed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific and artistic principles and hands-on fundamentals associated with the nail care industry. Students learn in a simulated salon environment that helps develop manipulative skills. The program has a $180.00 registration cost.
Graduates should qualify to sit for the State Board of Cosmetic Arts Examination. After successfully passing the state board exam, graduates will be issued a license as nail technicians.
Before the first day of class students must purchase:
- Red scrub top,
- Black scrub pants,
- Black closed-toe and heel shoes with leather or pleather material, and
- Black socks
- Nail Kit-$325.00 purchased from CVCC Cosmetology before registration
- Textbooks - $147.75 and must be purchases from the bookstore
- One 2" Black Binder
- Notebook paper
- Computer with WiFi access
