Redhawk Publications is an initiative of Catawba Valley Community College whose purpose is to publish and distribute money-saving course textbooks as well as artistic and academic contributions from CVCC’s vast program offering.
Redhawk Publications is an initiative of Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, NC. Redhawk publishes books written by students, faculty, and staff of CVCC as well as members of the college's community partners, including the Historical Association of Catawba County in Newton, NC, as well as members of the community. Redhawk’s stable of authors are now from all over the United States of America.
Redhawk’s initial publication Polio, Pitchforks, and Perseverance: How a North Carolina County Named Catawba Built a Miracle along with its companion documentary Miracle: How a North Carolina County Named Catawba Battled Polio and Won debuted in 2016.
Redhawk’s offerings now include over 60 books including classroom texts, poetry, history, and fiction.
Redhawk will help create low-cost version of classroom scaffolding texts, created and written by faculty, that will improve student learning in any discipline or specialty and create a revenue opportunity for faculty and program alike!
