Catawba Valley Community College recognized the graduates of the Spring 2023 Management Principles Program during a recent ceremony at the CVCC Corporate Development Center.
Management Principles is a leadership program designed for mid-level and senior managers, providing them with the tools to lead high performance teams with a focus on addressing leadership competencies through case studies, engaging discussions, and business leader panels. Seven students from different companies across Catawba County completed the course requirements.
Mark Jordan, program instructor and retired furniture company executive, shared his favorite aspects of teaching the course. “The students were very engaged in each of the topics covered in the class,” Jordan said, “and two of the best takeaways from this course are the contacts they make in the class and learning from their fellow students.”
Gary Muller, Executive Dean of Economic Development and Corporate Education at CVCC, stated, “All of us at the college are very proud of our students for their hard work and dedication to complete this important leadership development program, which will help them take the next steps in their careers.”
“We are also grateful for the continuing support of our local businesses, who collaborate with us to develop the most important programs for their employees. We couldn't do the things we do at the college if it were not for their ongoing support.”
CVCC would like to acknowledge our program sponsorship companies: Poeppelman Plastics; HSM Solutions; Commscope; and HK Research. Dwayne Laws of Poeppleman Plastics, and Brandon Pittman and David Higgins of HK Research attended the ceremony to support graduates and celebrate their accomplishments.
The next Management Principles class will start in September 2023.
