CVCC Hosts Human Services Connections Conference

The 2023 Human Services Connections Conference brings together community, residents, and students

HICKORY, N.C.— Catawba Valley Community College presents the first-annual Human Services Connections Conference, which will take place on Friday, September 29th, 2023 at the West Wing on the CVCC Main Campus.

David Zealy-Wright, Director of Human Services Technology at CVCC, and CVCC are excited to offer an engaging, informative event designed to connect students, agencies, and providers with unmet human services needs within the Catawba Valley region. 

The Human Services Connections Conference is honored to welcome the following speakers: David Zealy-Wright LCMHC, LCAS, CCS; Carmen Givens MSW, LCSW; Heather Smith MA, NCC, LCMHC-A, LCAS-A; Michelle Stroebel MA, NCC, LCMHC, DBH-C; and Michelle Mathis, founder of Olive Branch Ministries.  

Topics include addiction, transgender health, children’s mental health, and seniors’ mental health. Conference attendees will also have the opportunity to network with local providers and agencies.

All attendees will receive four (4) hours of Continuing Education Credit, as approved by the *National Board of Certified Counselors.
