CVCC Faculty Senate honors administration with resolution
The Catawba Valley Community College Faculty Senate adopted a resolution to honor the administration at CVCC for its work and dedication during the past year and navigating through the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Catawba Valley Community College Faculty Senate adopted a resolution to honor the administration at CVCC for its work and dedication during the past year and navigating through the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Thursday morning, Faculty Senate Officers Elizabeth Braun, President; Jeff Kautz and Jason Elder, Co-Presidents-Elect; Jennifer Cobb, Secretary; and Susannah Blanchard, Communications; met with CVCC President Dr. Garrett Hinshaw to formally present to him a Resolution in Praise of the Administration.
“Our employees and our students have been resilient during this unprecedented time in our lives,” Hinshaw said. “To be acknowledged by our Faculty Senate demonstrates the commitment and strength of Red Hawk Nation.”
The unplanned move to remote learning in the spring of 2020 and the decision to remain mostly virtual for the 2020-21 academic year was not an easy one to make.
Recognizing that many organizations — both locally and nationally — had a difficult time with these decisions, the Faculty Senate was compelled to acknowledge the outstanding leadership demonstrated by the CVCC administration.
“During this last year of crisis, it has meant so much to us that CVCC has been open and up front about their planning,” Braun said. “The steps that the outstanding leadership at CVCC have taken have shown us that the safety of students, faculty, and staff has been their highest priority. That's deserving of recognition."
The Faculty Senate of Catawba Valley Community College represents the entire faculty body and meets monthly to discuss and address issues which concern faculty.
