CVCC Catawba Valley Furniture Academy Recognizes Supervisory Certification Graduates
Catawba Valley Furniture Academy recognized twenty-two graduates of the latest Supervisory Certification Program.

NEWTON, N.C.—On Thursday, November 30th, the Catawba Valley Furniture Academy recognized twenty-two graduates of the latest Supervisory Certification Program.
Graduates included Tim Bennett; Amanda Bryant; Nicole Craig; Richard Curtis; Ian Dancel; Joshua Davis; Calvin Hang; Jason Higley; Sabrina Ledford; Pao Lee; Wesley Love; Brett McLain; Nathaniel Miller; Damaris Peeler; James Phipps; Camron Pope; Shane Robertson; Dirk Schoellner; Alishia Shoemaker; Ashley Starnes; Jackie Starnes; and Thomas Wessels.
The Supervisory Certification Program was designed for professional supervisors who wish to increase their leadership capabilities and study the business operations of local companies. After the ceremony, each graduate received a CVCC Supervisory Certificate and 6.4 Continuing Education Units (CEU).
Cindy Jarvis, instructor of both the Supervisory Certification and Human Resources Institute programs, was one of the initial speakers at the graduation ceremony. “We look at learning as a journey,” Jarvis shared. “You are now stepping into your next phase of the journey, which requires that you lead another person. Leadership is one of the most noble things you can do. Each one of you will now guide others and help them find their own ways to grow.”
James Phipps, a graduate who works as an engineer at US Conec, reflected on his appreciation for his classmates and the way this program made an impact on his life. “Thank you to everyone in this class who took the time to share your stories,” Phipps said. “I wish I had the knowledge of this course during my past jobs, as what I’ve experienced here is quite inspiring. I’ve learned a lot that not only applies to my workplace, but also to everyday life.”
