LR and CVCC Accounting Agreement

“CVCC is excited to work with four-year institutions to create opportunities for our students to continue their education seamlessly through official articulation agreements,” said Brice Melton, CVCC’s Vice President for Teaching and Learning and Chief Academic Officer. “LRU is an excellent choice for CVCC students to continue their collegiate career.”

In order to qualify for transfer, eligible CVCC students must meet certain criteria — applying to and be accepted to Lenoir-Rhyne University; successfully completing the Associate in Applied Science in Accounting degree from CVCC; and having an overall cumulative GPA of 2.0 minimum in all collegiate-level work from all institutions attending since high school graduation (or equivalent).

Students must have earned no grade less than C in any required course as part of the AAS in Accounting curriculum and submit one letter of recommendation from present (or most present) instructor or employer.

Through this new articulation agreement, Lenoir-Rhyne University will accept up to 64 hours upon admission to the University.

“We are excited at LR to add an articulation agreement in Accounting with our partners at CVCC,” said Gary Johnson, provost at Lenoir-Rhyne University. “We know that there’s strong demand for graduates in this field, and we are confident that this partnership will provide students from our region with an attractive pathway into the profession.”

This latest articulation agreement is the ninth between Catawba Valley Community College and Lenoir-Rhyne University. There are currently articulation agreements between the two institutions for Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Entrepreneurship, Exercise Science, Human & Community service, Computer Science, Information Technology and Nursing.
