Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is available to assist you in the career decision making process.
Interests, values, abilities, experiences, and personality will be explored to help reveal possible career
fields for exploration.
Career counseling can benefit those who are undecided about a college major, those
wishing to change careers, and those who are seeking confirmation that a selected career area is right for
them.
The office of the CVCC career counselor is located at the Catawba County JobLink Career
Center on the East Campus of CVCC. Walk-ins are welcome, but to minimize your wait please call 324-5650 and
ask to speak to with the career counselor to schedule an appointment.
Career Research
Career research is an important component in the career planning process. The JobLink
Career Center has a library of reference materials, selected occupational computer software, and internet
resources to assist you in researching any occupational field. You may choose to browse the materials
independently or ask the Resource Room Volunteer for assistance. You may begin your research today by
checking out the Related Links section on this page.

The JobLink Career Center has many resources to assist both CVCC students and citizens
of the community with resume preparation and interviewing.

(WinWay Resume). In our reference library, we have several resources to help you begin to design your
resume. A professional staff member is available during Resource Room hours to assist you. (9:00 a.m.
until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday.)
A disk is provided for storage of your resume. This can be left in the resume file at
the Career Center and then can be updated as needed. Faxing and copier services are also available free of
charge for job related needs.
In our video library, you can find numerous tapes on resume writing, job seeking and
interviewing. Two TV/VCR's are available for viewing these tapes.
