"Service Above Self" Scholarship

The Hickory Rotary Club Scholarship is established to enhance education in the Catawba Valley. Success of the economy of Catawba County depends upon the quality of CVCC's graduates. The Hickory Rotary Club Scholarship will enable and encourage students to develop their leadership potential as exhibited by their contributions to their community.

Award

The scholarship award is $500 annually. The recipient will receive a $250 voucher for two semesters.

Criteria for Selection

The recipient must:

• Have the potential for a successful two-year college career.
• Commit to obtain an education to pursue definite goals.
• Be a graduate of a high school in Catawba County.
• Demonstrate a level of activities and service to individuals and groups that exhibits "service above self."

Other Criteria

Each high school will select a candidate that has exhibited leadership and "service above self." The CVCC Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee will choose the recipient from these candidates.

The recipient will be invited to attend a meeting of the Hickory Rotary Club.
