Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks - Hickory Elks Lodge Scholarship

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Hickory Elks Lodge Scholarship is established to provide scholarships based on need, leadership, and scholastic ability. These scholarships will enable and encourage students to develop their leadership potential. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks have enjoyed helping children and those less fortunate since its founding in 1868.

Award

Four scholarships will be awarded annually. Each scholarship is $1,000. The recipient may apply for the award for a second year.

Criteria for Selection

The recipient must:

• Have the potential for a successful two-year college career.
• Commit to obtain an education to pursue definite goals.
• Prove financial need.
• Be a Unifour area resident.
• Be a recent (within the past five years) graduate of high school.

Other Criteria

The recipient may be invited by the #1654 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks to attend a meeting and/or function during the college year.
