Math
| Students from 15 area middle and high schools from Catawba and Alexander counties recently competed in the 14 th annual Catawba Valley Community College Jeanette L. Staley Mathematics Tournament. In the tournament, 186 students competed in Algebra, Advanced Math and Geometry contests in both individual and team competitions. The tournament was funded by the CVCC Foundation, Inc., and hosted by the CVCC Mathematics division faculty including, Ann S. DeBoever, division chair, and Brenda Lewis, Jonathan Loss, Kenneth Mann, Vasilica Marhao, Jeanne McGinnis, Margaret Sorrell, Collette Touchette and Luke Walsh; instructors. Former CVCC mathematics instructor, Linda Sigmon, served as the hostess for the hospitality room for the high school team chaperones. |
