The J.E. and Mary Trice Scholarship
The J.E. and Mary Trice Scholarship was established to honor Mary P. Trice of DeKalb,
Mississippi, and the late J.E. Trice for the significant role they played in the lives of Dr. and Mrs.
Cuyler A. Dunbar.
Description and Format
The J.E. and Mary Trice Scholarship program recognizes students who are academically
promising with financial need.
Scholarship Award
The scholarship is for tuition for an academic year (Fall and Spring semesters).
The scholarship will be based on academic achievement and financial need.
Commitment
The recipient must be committed to academic excellence.
Criteria for Selection
The recipient must possess the potential for a successful college career. The recipient
must be a resident of Alexander or Catawba County.
Selection Process
Students may be nominated by CVCC staff, high school officials, or members of the
business community.
Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Selection Committee. Nominees may be
interviewed by the Scholarship Selection Committee.
