Martha D. Staley Scholarship Award

Insurance & Financial Advisors

The Martha D. Staley Scholarship Award is established by the Catawba Valley Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (CVAIFA) to honor Mrs. Staley for her service and dedication to the insurance industry and CVAIFA. Ms. Staley has served in various positions of the association in the past and currently serves as the Executive Director. She serves as a member of the Life Underwriter's National Board along with serving on several state boards. Funds for this scholarship were made available as a result of the association's golf tournament.

Award

The $500 award is based on academic achievement and financial need for tuition, fees, insurance, and books.

Criteria for Selection

The student must meet the following criteria:

• Potential to successfully complete the Pre-Major Associate in Arts: Nursing, Business, EMS, Fire Training, Criminal Justice, or the Basic Law Enforcement Training.
• Be a high school graduate.
• Be a resident of the CVCC service area of Catawba or Alexander Counties.
• Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Other Criteria

The recipient should seek the other financial assistance by contacting the CVCC Student Services Division. The recipient will be invited to attend a luncheon held by the Catawba Valley Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
