St. Stephens Kiwanis Club Scholarship
Kiwanis is a worldwide service organization of men and women who share the challenge of
community and world improvement. Since its founding in Detroit, Michigan, in 1915, Kiwanis has grown to
more than 8,000 clubs in 79 nations. There are approximately 300,000 active Kiwanis members from nearly
every culture and on every continent who help improve people's lives. Kiwanians are individuals who give
of their time to make their communities and the world better places in which to live and work. St. Stephens
Kiwanis Club was chartered in October 1996 with the mission of helping to improve people's lives within our
community.
Award
One scholarship will be awarded annually to a CVCC student. Each scholarship award is
$500. The recipient may apply for the award for a second year.
Criteria for Selection
- Be a graduate of St. Stephens High School
- Exhibit community activities and service to individuals and/or organization
- Prove financial need
- Potential for a successful two-year college career at CVCC
- Maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 to renew the scholarship for a second year
Other Criteria
The recipient will be invited periodically to attend a meeting of the St. Stephens
Kiwanis Club.
