Competitive Selection Process

The following process will be used to select the best qualified applicants out of those who complete all minimum admission requirements by the May 30 deadline.

Each applicant will be evaluated using the criteria listed below. The points an applicant receives from each of these criteria will be added together. Those applicants with the highest number of points will be admitted to the program until the class is filled.

The Radiography Program will accept ten (10) students each year.

1. Past Academic Performance
   1. Assignment of points for any general education courses completed out of the Radiography curriculum.
      
2. PSB Exam
   1. All applicants must take the PSB Exam for Health Occupations.
   2. An applicant may take the PSB Exam only once per year. (For applicants who have tested more than once, the higher score in each area will be used.)
   3. Applicants must score a minimum 30th percentile in Academic Aptitude Total, Reading Comprehension and Information in the Natural Sciences to be considered for admission.
3. Shadowing
   1. All applicants must document a minimum of four (4) hours of shadowing of a Radiographer in an in-patient, hospital setting within the 36 months prior to the May 30 deadline.
   2. Documentation forms should be submitted to Student Records to be included in the applicants folder.
4. Optional Bonus Points: Health Care Experience (only one of the following)
   1. Proof of current certification or licensure in another health care profession.
   2. Documented volunteer activities in an in-patient health care facility within the last three (3) years.
   3. Documented minimum six (6) months patient care experience in a health care facility within the last three (3) years.
5. AFTER initial acceptance, but prior to the first day of class, applicants must:
   1. Attend a program orientation session as scheduled by the Radiography Department Head.
   2. Submit a completed health examination form certifying that they are able to participate in the activities of a health profession in a clinical setting.

Applicants are responsible for completing admission requirements, making sure all materials have been received by the College, and for informing the College of any changes in personal information, such as name or mailing address. Personal information changes require appropriate identification and must be made in person at Student Records.
