Turfgrass Management Technology

Turfgrass Management Technology will prepare you for jobs maintaining lawns, golf courses, parks and other recreational grounds. This program shows you how to select, establish, maintain and manage the right grasses for specific uses. You will learn about warm and cool season grasses and how to control weeds, insects and diseases. This program also offers training in construction and renovation of golf courses.

During the summer you will work on a golf course or other approved recreational facility under the supervision of a turf professional and college instructor. You will receive hands-on experience as a co-op student. Many students later return as full-time employees to these sites.

If you enjoy working outdoors, maintaining some of the best recreational facilities in the country, then Turfgrass Management may be for you.

 Upon graduation, some of our graduates start their own business, while most work for businesses in the Turfgrass industry. A few of the graduates continue their education at a four-year institutions where they can receive a B. S. Degree or higher in Turfgrass Management.
