Our Health and Physical Education programs are part of the College Transfer program. Courses in the College Transfer
program are designed to parallel the freshman and sophomore years of study of a four-year college or
university. In the first two years of college, students pursue a program of general education in the area of
humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, and sciences.
Catawba Valley Community College provides counseling to help students plan their program
of study in convergence with counselors, advisors, and admissions personnel at the college or university to
which they wish to transfer. The structure of each student's program should be based on high school records,
occupational goals, and choice of college to which the student plans to transfer.
The Associate in Arts Degree is awarded graduates of our programs
