North Carolina Libraries for Virtual Education (NC LIVE) offers the citizens of North
Carolina online access to complete articles from over 5,500 newspapers, journals, magazines, and
encyclopedias, indexing for over 15,000 periodical titles, and access to over 13,000 electronic books. NC
LIVE is available free of charge for library patrons, researchers, and educators from four communities of
interest -- public libraries, community colleges, the state's university system, and members of the North
Carolina Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. NC LIVE can be accessed from within an
affiliated library or from home.

- Academic Search Elite.
Provides abstracts and indexing for over 3,000 scholarly journals covering a wide variety of subject areas
from 1984 to present.
- InfoTrac OneFile. Includes
over 6,325 titles indexed from 1980 to present, with nearly 3,000 full-text titles.
- MasterFile Premier. Covers a
wide variety of topics from about 3,100 magazines and journals from 1984 to present.
- INFORM Global. Business and
management information. Provides indexing and abstracts for over 1,300 journals from 1971 to
present.
- CINAHL. Cumulative Index to
Nursing and Allied Health Literature. This database covers nursing, biomedicine, health sciences
librarianship, consumer health, and 17 allied health disciplines, and contains indexing for over 1,200
nursing journals and publications dating back to 1982, and abstracts for over 250 journals.
- MEDLINEplus.
Extensive
information for health professionals and consumers from the National Institutes of Health and other
trusted sources on hundreds of diseases and conditions.
