The Learning Resource Center is comprised of the Library and Audiovisual Services. We are committed to the
mission of the college by providing resources and materials that will challenge you in your educational

The Library is the information resource center for the Catawba Valley Community College
campus. Here, you may browse current events in newspapers, and trends and historically significant events
in magazines. You may also access information from the world around you via the World Wide Web. We also
maintain a leisure reading collection of popular titles.
Audiovisual Services provides access to equipment and materials for instructor use.
Students may use, with instructor approval, equipment and materials for class projects
The library staff is here to assist you in your use of our resources. We are all eager
to help you succeed in your research activities. We always welcome your suggestions and comments on
improving your library research experience.
All of the materials within the library are indexed in the OPAC, the On-Line-Public-Access
Catalog.
This Catalog identifies where the materials are located within the library. To check out
materials from the library, you will need to have a current Library Card, which may be obtained at the
Circulation Desk.
Access to NC LIVE, a collection of online databases, periodicals resources, and reference
works is also provided in the library. Your state tax money is used to provide NC LIVE to all public
libraries, community college libraries, and UNC system libraries.

NCknows is staffed by librarians.
