The meeting was called to order at 3:00pm by President Ashley Brown, room 331 of the CAD building.

Ashley Brown announced that PSA President will now meet with the Administrative Council once a month.  President, Teresa Ray will begin attending these meetings.

Treasurer’s report was given indicating that $498.00 exists in our PSA funds.  This includes $33.00 from the Beautification Committee to use for spirit banners.

Old Business:
Spirit Banners
Spirit banners are now printed.  The project cost was $86.00, less expensive than originally thought.  Ashley Brown paid for this project with Title III funds.  Our welding department is making frames for our banners.

Sandie Loyer suggested that we have additional banners to display on East Campus.  Motion was made by Doug Allen to move forward with this project.  Motion was approved by members present.  Wendy Bumgarner will design and develop these banners.  Ashley Brown will send out a CVCC -ALL to request some inspiring words for our banners.

Scholarship
The Professional Staff Scholarship did not reach completion to meet our fall enrollment deadline.  Ashley Brown suggested that we try to implement this project for the spring semester.

New Business:
Dr Hinshaw’s Vision of Representation
Ashley Brown explained Dr Hinshaw’s vision of our campus organizations.  He desires better participation to represent each group’s concerns.  Dr. Hinshaw requests that each organization (PSA, Faculty Senate, Student Government and SSA) represent the good of the group for the overall interests of the college. All concerns can be brought forth at Cabinet Meetings.

Officers

Ashley Brown requested that we volunteer for upcoming officer positions.  Teresa Ray will hold the next PSA meeting.

Discussion:

Doug Allen suggested that PSA support a ban on tobacco usage campus wide.  Ashley Brown suggested we get Dr. Hinshaw’s input on this subject.  Mary Miller will try to revive an e-mail report on a campus wide survey.  Doug Allen will research if Blue Cross Blue Shield could aid us in this effort.

Meeting Adjourned.

Respectfully Aubmitted

Tammy Buff
Secretary, PSA
