CVCC Professional Staff Association Executive Committee
September 19, 2002

Members Present: Doug Allen, Sue Asp, Donna Trado, Sallie Neville Merritt

The meeting was called to order by President Doug Allen.

Old Business:
None.

New Business:
We began our meeting of a discussion about an email that Doug Allen sent to Kennon Briggs, NCCCS office, regarding inclusive language for a workshop that he is presenting at the NCCCFA (Faculty Association) Conference in October. The description of the workshop included only the word faculty in this presentation of salary issues. It was felt that it is important to continue reminding our system office that they also need to continue to include Professional Staff as well.

Planning for next General Meeting:
General meeting is scheduled for Thursday October 3 at 2:30 PM. in East Campus Room 947.

Agenda items for the general meeting include:

• PSA Goals for 2002-2003

• Response from our June Meeting with Dr. Dunbar

• Report of follow-up meeting on Oct 1 with Dr. Dunbar

• New initiative to coordinate with Faculty Senate & Support Staff Assn.

• Collect "accomplishments/activities" for PSA update to Board of Trustees

• Results of Election for new Officers

• Turning over the "gavel" to new President - Donna Trado
