Members Present

LaDonna Goodson, Karen Less, Sue Asp, Judy Barkley, Doug Allen, Anne Williams.

The meeting was called to order by President LaDonna Goodson.

The PSA Nominating Committee raised the issue of dues and their use. Following discussion, it was recommended that, if dues are approved by the membership, they should be paid in cash and maintained in a secure place on campus.

Issues from the January 25, 2000 meeting with Personnel Director were discussed.

• CVCC employees will not be offered contracts;

• LaDonna has brought up posting CVCC jobs at a recent Administrative Council meeting, but the issue was not pursued;

• Salary schedules in the Policy & procedure Manual have not been updated and do not appear to be based on experience and education.

Advanced Degrees & Educational Leave

The committee briefly discussed whether or not faculty receives additional compensation for advanced degrees. This issue will be referred to the Pay Equity Task Force. It was noted that other community colleges provide 4-hours/week educational leave to pursue advanced degrees. It was suggested that PSA representative meet with Janette Staley, Chair of the Faculty Senate, discuss expanding the dollars for performance pay.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned by LaDonna Goodson.
