LaDonna Goodson, President, opened the meeting by outlining the two purposes: 1) review the meeting with Dr. Dunbar, and 2) discuss plans for meeting with legislators.

Meeting with Dr. Dunbar
The executive Committee met with Dr. Dunbar on December 15, 1999.  The committee presented him with a list of the goals as identified by the membership and discussed them with him.  On the pay equity issue, Dr. Dunbar agreed that we could make a presentation to the Board of Trustees at their next meeting on February 17, 2000.  In addition, he agreed that the Professional Staff Association could meet with local legislators when the college administrators are meeting with the legislators.

Pay Equity Issue
Following discussion of the best ways to keep our issue in front of our legislators, it was decided that face-to-face meetings with our local delegation (Austin Allran, Mitchell Setzer and Joe Kiser) and letters to other influential legislators (Tolson, Dalton, and Lee ) will be most effective.  While the committee is aware that flood relief will be a lead issue for the legislature, we feel the need to try to get the pay equity issue on the "radar".  Karen will send to LaDonna a letter that can be used as a model for PSA members to use.  LaDonna will take the lead in setting up face-to-face meetings.  Dr. Dunbar will be kept up-to-date on the work of the PSA on this issue.

LaDonna reported that the PSA is on the agenda for a brief presentation on the pay equity issue to the CVCC Board of Trustees February 17, 2000, 4:00 PM.   Members of the Executive Committee will participate in the presentation.  Anne will prepare a list of pertinent facts for presentation.
