Hiking and outdoor camping is my second recreational pastime. I enjoy both very much. Over the years, with family and friends, I have hiked and camped in various states and several international countries. I have found winter and early spring to be the ideal times to camp, especially with my grand kids. These preferred times are a result of my 25 years of military field experiences. (North Carolina National Guard Retired 2001). Be it individual or with a group, hiking is a very enjoyable experience. To be thrilled by the beauty of an easy nature stroll or a multi-day backpacking trip in the wilds, is truly a pleasure for one to savor and enjoy.
