CVCC Faculty Senate - Objectives

Objectives

To fulfill its mission, the Faculty Senate has established the following specific objectives.

To serve as a conduit for Faculty input in planning and implementing college programs, services, policies, and facilities.
To assist the administration in developing and implementing effective procedures to accomplish institutional goals.
To provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of interest and concern to the Faculty, including Faculty grievances, student concerns, and others which involve the Faculty as a whole.
To express the concerns and opinions of the Faculty to the administration of the College on any matter of concern to the Faculty.
To serve as a catalyst to unify all College agencies, consolidating them in unity of spirit to achieve a common purpose.
To encourage and promote professional growth of its members.
To aid in securing and maintaining adequate salaries, contracts, and other benefits of employment.
To seek improvements in conditions tending to bring equity to Faculty work loads.
To aid in ensuring due process for Faculty.
To promote a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment conducive to learning.
To promote a physical environment free of health and safety hazards.
