2011 NC Residential Building Code Classes
This course is designed to provide both novice and experienced individuals a comprehensive review of the 2009 North Carolina Residential Building Code.
Topics include:
- The first eleven chapters and their accompanying appendices.
- Requirements for foundations, floors, walls, roof systems, chimneys, and fireplaces.
- Requirements for energy efficiency and building planning.
- Constructions laws.
- Prescriptive methods relating to concrete, masonry, and wood framing methods.
Upon completion of this course, individuals will have a comprehensive understanding of building code regulations, construction methods, and anatomy. Instructor Armin Wallner is employed with Catawba County Inspections. He holds Standard Level III Inspection Certifications in Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Prevention from the NC Code Officials Qualifications Board. Mr. Wallner also holds numerous inspection certifications from the International Code Council.
