Graduating early from high school?

CVCC operates on a slightly different calendar than the public school systems.  Spring 2014 begins on Wednesday, January 8, 2014.  The College will open on January 2, 2014. Remember: Plan ahead; SOONER IS BETTER THAN LATER! LINES WILL BE LONG ON JANUARY 2.

  • If you will be 18 years of age on or before January 2, 2014, please visit the Admissions "Apply Now" web page.
  • If you will not be 18 years of age on or before January 2, 2014 and you will not graduate early from high school, please visit the Career and College (CCP) web page.
  • If you will not be 18 years of age on or before January 2, 2014, and you will graduate early from high school, you must provide evidence of your high school graduation.  Please follow the steps listed below.
    1. Attend a STARTING POINTS Information Session as soon as possible.

    2. At Starting Points, you will receive the Application for Admission.  Complete and bring it to the Student Services office with your photo ID to meet with an admissions staff member.  Do this any time BEFORE 4:30pm ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 2.  (If you apply online, you still need to meet with an admissions staff member BEFORE January 2.) SOONER IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN LATER!

    3. When you bring the Application for Admission to Student Services, an admissions staff member will meet with you to process the application and provide valuable information about your next steps.

    4. You MUST have your high school counselor complete the VERIFICATION LETTER

Bring the verification letter in a sealed envelope to the Records Window in the Student Services office prior to registration on January 3.  If you bring the envelope ON January 3, you must take it to Records before you are allowed to register for classes.  Lines will be long on that day.

    5. Be prepared to pay tuition and fees  no later than January 7th. (The deadline for financial aid awarding was October 15, 2013.  It takes 4-6 weeks to process financial aid from the day you submit the FAFSA.)  Students are responsible for payment by cash, check, credit card or payment plan (half due at registration plus a $25.00 processing fee with balance due in February). Books are not included in tuition and must be purchased by the student.  If you are eligible for financial aid, it will be disbursed to you 4-6 weeks after submitting the FAFSA AND processing your application for admission.
