Fire Protection Technology
The Fire Protection Technology curriculum is intended to offer individuals professional and technical knowledge to make decisions regarding fire protection for both private and public domain. It provides a stable foundation for continuous higher learning in fire protection, administration and management as well.
Course work includes classroom and laboratory activities to introduce the student to the many aspects of fire protection. Students learn technical and administration skills such as hydraulics, hazardous materials, arson investigation, fire protection safety, fire suppression, fire rescue service management, law, and codes.
Graduates will qualify for employment or advancement in governmental agencies, industrial firms, insurance rating organizations, educational organizations, and municipal and volunteer fire departments.
Employed persons should have opportunities for more skilled and supervisory level positions within their current or outside organizations.
