Peer Mentoring Program
Are you. . .
-
A new student and nervous about going to college?
- Concerned about studying and making good grades?
- Needing a little extra help and guidance?
CVCC’s Peer Mentoring Program provides academic and personal support to new students experiencing the challenges associated with the first semester college experience. Through interviews, profiles, and mentor matching sessions, a student "mentee" is matched with his/her personal mentor. A student who participates in this program will become more aware of the resources and opportunities available at CVCC and develop skills that will lead to academic success in classes.
Who can become a mentee?
- Students who are new to CVCC (1st or 2nd semester)
- Students who are enrolled in developmental courses (MAT 050, MAT 060, MAT 070, MAT 080; ENG 070, ENG 080, ENG 090; RED 070, RED 080, RED 090)
- Students who are willing to participate in all components of the Peer Mentoring Program
