Being a Peer Tutor

Do you like helping others with their studies?  You might want to consider being a peer tutor through the Learning Assistance Center.  If you have made an “A” or “B” in a class, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, enjoy helping others, and have some extra time, then you might want to think about being a part-time peer tutor.  Pay starts at $8.00 an hour.

Stop by the Learning Assistance Center and fill out a “Tutor Information Sheet,” or you may get a copy of this form by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page, “Tutor Information Sheet.”

Fill out this form completely, listing all the subjects that you are qualified to tutor (must have made an “A” or “B” in this class) and all the times that you are available for tutoring.

List your classes by course number (examples:  DMA 010, RED 080) and indicate the instructor you had for each subject.  Turn in your completed form to the front desk or Cindy Ly in the LAC.  If you took your classes at another school, a transcript will be required.

An email will be sent to each instructor indicated on your Tutor Information Sheet for approval.  After the LAC receives email approval from your instructor(s), your name and contact information will be added to the tutor list for possible tutoring.  You will also be notified by email or phone about your approval.
