After satisfactorily completing the clinical experience, these Catawba Valley Community College CNA I students have returned to their classroom at the Alexander Center for Education to begin practicing for their state skill evaluation. The next CNA I class being offered at the Alexander Center for Education will begin on November 14, 2011.

Pathways to CNA is a prerequisite to CNA I, at the Alexander Center for Education. The curriculum for this three day class includes employability skills, test taking strategies, and the roles/duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant

Catawba Valley Community College students are participating in a Point of Care class at the Alexander Center for Education. Point of Care Training prepares students to perform and interpret low complexity tests which are carried out in a physician's office or clinic setting. Prerequisites include a high school diploma or GED, and the successful completion of a formal phlebotomy training program within the last 3 years or a minimum of 20 hours per week of phlebotomy employment for the past 12 months if formal training is more than 3 years prior.
