Cooking Up a Storm (Rising 4th - 6th Graders)

Food lovers stop here! Learn to be comfortable in the kitchen and gain useful cooking skills. Learn basic food safety, nutrition, measuring methods, utensil and food preparation terms, and using small appliances to prepare food. You will prepare fun foods and eat the treats you make in class. Whisk in a variety of ingredients, toss in a little fun, season with imagination and soon you will be cooking up a storm while learning!

 Teens Behind the Wheel (Ages 14-17)

One out of every four 16-year old drivers in North Carolina is involved in an accident during the first year of driving. This class is designed to provide defensive driving training for new drivers to help improve their knowledge of safe driving principles and their driving skills. Three hours of classroom instruction (Thursday) and five hours of behind the wheel instruction (Saturday) are provided in this class. For the driving skills portion, students must bring a car and one parent is encouraged to attend. The total cost for this two-day class is $75.00.
