ACT Preparation (Rising 10th-12th Graders)

Give yourself the best advantage you can when you take the ACT. This class will provide an overview of the ACT test and recommend success strategies for teens. Students will review the topics on the ACT: math, science, English, reading, and writing. Students will need to purchase the Kaplan ACT 2015: Strategies, Practice, and Review prior to or at the class. Approximate cost of the book: $25

Discover the fun of cupcake decorating and making the most stick-tacular cake pop treats. You will use techniques to bake your own cupcakes and cake pops and learn to use different decorating tools. Hooked on Drawing (Ages 9-12)

This course will introduce and review the basics of pencil drawing. Students will learn to see likes of artist and study what you are about to draw. Additional tips and techniques will help you with your drawing skills. Blending, pencil pressure and various marking styles will also be covered as students explore landscapes, portraits, animals and still life drawings.

Teens Behind the Wheel (Ages 14-17)

One out of every four 16-year-old drivers in North Carolina is involved in an accident during the first year of driving. This class is designed to provide defensive driving training for new drivers to help improve their knowledge of safe driving principles and their driving skills. Three hours of classroom instruction (Thursday) and five hours of behind the wheel instruction (Saturday) are provided in this class. For the driving skill portion, students must bring a car and one parent is encouraged to attend.
