Simulated Hospital
Facility
The Hospital includes:
- Surgical/trauma operating room with separate scrub area
- 2-bed Intensive Care Unit
- A small nursing unit with an OBGYN and bariatric room, med area, nurse station
- Acute care unit with 11 rooms and an isolation room, nurse station, medication area, dirty utility, and a large nursing station
- Polysomnography (sleep-study) and electroneurodiagnostics area
- Simulation control room for each unit
- A respiratory care classroom/laboratory
- Restrooms throughout the hospital
- Family waiting area
- 3 debriefing rooms
- 2 central supply rooms
Cameras and microphones in all simulation rooms allow activities to be observed and recorded. Simulators can be controlled from inside the simulation rooms for one-on-one teaching, from computer stations immediately outside the simulation rooms, or from the control room.
