Sponsors
Initial funding for the Homegrown Teaching Scholars Program was provided by the Golden LEAF Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization.
Support for the HGTS Program has been provided by the CVCC Foundation, Inc., Unifour Foundation, Taylorsville Rotary, and the Alexander County Chamber Foundation. Delta Kappa Gamma Society International provides individual mentoring for participants.
The program is a cooperative plan of CVCC and the Alexander County, Catawba County, Hickory Public, and Newton-Conover City School Systems. Sustaining funding is made available by Catawba Valley Community College. The Unifour Foundation Inc. and the Alexander County, Catawba County, Hickory Public and Newton-Conover City Schools provided matching dollars for the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 year.
