Graduation is almost here and I know you are excited. I am, too! For those of you who have continued to participate in the Dream Believe Achieve Scholarship program by sending me your report cards each semester and community service project reports in the fall and spring semesters, here is the information concerning your CVCC DBA Scholarship. It’s time for you to complete the three step application process. So, get ready and let’s do this:
You and a parent/guardian need to compete the online NC Residency Interview. This is a series of questions that will verify your NC residency for tuition purposes. When you finish the questionnaire, you will be provided an “RCN” (Residency Determination Number). You will need to include the RCN on your CVCC Application.
Complete the CVCC Application. Choose your Program of Study from a list of programs and select Fall 2018 as your entry term. Once your Application is submitted, you will receive a follow up email with these instructions:
To determine your eligibility for federal financial aid, you need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The DBA Scholarship is a merit based scholarship which requires your family to submit the FAFSA. (Much of the information used for the NC Residency Interview is needed for the FAFSA.) Additional scholarship information is located on the Scholarship Financial Aid webpage.
Important Note: The DBA Scholarship will cover outstanding tuition after federal financial aid and other scholarships are applied to your CVCC tuition expense.
The admissions staff member will provide registration information. You will register by appointment in July or August in the CVCC Advising Center. An advisor will help you plan your schedule and sign up for classes.
If you are not sure what you want to study, don’t distress. I didn't decide on my major until my second year in college! The College Transfer degrees are perfect for students who are undecided.
