Catawba Valley Community College "Christmas Colossus Concert"
In 2008 and 2009 the Music Department at Catawba Valley Community College held "Christmas Colossus I and II" concerts. The Christmas concerts were open to public participation either as a part of the CVCC Chorus or one of the local church, school, or community choruses, or as a private individual with choral experience.
Last year, the choir attracted nearly 400 singers, dancers and instrumentalists and an audience of about 2200. Singers came from six counties and from 22 churches, high schools, and other choral goups. The group was accompanied by members of the Western Piedmont Symphony and featured a handbell choir of 40 ringers.
WINTER CONCERT 2009 will take place Tuesday, December 1, at 7:00 p.m. Location of the concert is St. Aloysius Catholic Church and is entitled, "An American Mass" by Kean. ALL singers from the community are welcome to join us in singing for this event.
