Moser Attends Circle K Leadership Academy

Robert Aaron Moser, president of Catawba Valley Community College’s Circle K International club, will attend Circle K International Leadership Academy in Morgantown, Ind., this summer.

CKI Leadership Academy is an investment in the members of CKI. The intense six-day event focuses on the E6 Framework created by Brendon Burchard, author of “The Student Leadership Guide.” Facilitators walk students through the steps to envision, enlist, embody, empower, evaluate and encourage. Students and facilitators are also given an opportunity to complete a service project during the program.

CKI Leadership Academy is held at Waycross Camp & Conference Center in Morgantown, Ind., free of social media interaction. The experience prepares club leaders for the coming year and develops club presidents and emerging leaders within the district through participation in a life-changing leadership experience.

CKI and a grant from the Kiwanis International Foundation pay for a majority of the costs of the leadership program. The Hickory Kiwanis Club, sponsor of CVCC’s Circle K club, the CVCC club, and a scholarship from the CKI Carolinas District also covered costs of Moser’s experience.

The son of Donna Moser and the late Richard Moser of Stony Point, Moser is studying Computer Engineering Technology at CVCC. He intends to transfer to Appalachian State next year to complete a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering.
CKI is a sponsored leadership program of Kiwanis International. With more than 12,600 members promoting service, leadership and fellowship, it is the largest student-led service organization on college campuses in the world. Many CVCC Circle K members transfer to four-year institutions and remain active in Circle K, continuing in leadership capacities.
