Foundation Receives Wells Fargo Grant

The CVCC Foundation, Inc., recently received a $15,200 grant from Wells Fargo to provide need-based scholarships for students enrolled in short and long-term occupational training at Catawba Valley Community College.  The college received the grant through its application entitled “Refresh, Retrain, Re-employ—3 Reasons Wells Fargo Partners with CVCC .”

“This fits perfectly with the vision and values of Wells Fargo,” said Philip E. Moore, Market President for Wells Fargo in Catawba County. “The Wells Fargo Foundation has designated education as one of our primary focus areas, and we recognize that an investment in education is a meaningful way to contribute to the economic growth of the communities we serve.

“We have a long tradition of serving western North Carolina, and we are proud to continue to do what we can to make a difference in our local communities. We believe that we’re responsible for being leaders and doing our part to help improve the quality of life for everyone in our communities. If they prosper, so do we.”

The CVCC Foundation’s mission is to foster and promote the growth, progress, diversity and general welfare of CVCC.  For more information on giving, contact Teresa Biggs, executive director of the CVCC Foundation, Inc., 828-327-7000, ext. 4288,
