Hmong New Year Celebration Dec. 4
Catawba Valley Community College Office of Multicultural Affairs and BB&T invite the community to attend its Hmong New Year Celebration from 2 to 7 p.m. on Tues., Dec. 4 in the CVCC Student Center.
The third in the five-part Multicultural Series celebrating diversity on campus and in the community, the Hmong New Year Celebration will feature food, educational displays, and interactive exhibits.
Entertainment will be provided by the CVCC Play Production Class directed by Kim Stinson, Rev. Raymond Hollis and Raymond III, Leah Kennedy, Guitarist, Challenger High School Students Dance Group, Sib Sua Yaj Yuam (Little Girl Dance Group) with Pachi Xiong and Experience the Hmong Culture – Ze Vue and Jennifer Vang.
The five-part series encourages students, staff, faculty and the community to celebrate and become more aware of a wide variety of cultures, our differences and what we share in common.
In addition to the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the celebration is sponsored by a number of CVCC groups, including CircleK, Rotaract, Student Government Association, and the Minority Males on the Move.
