Call For Entries to State Art Exhbit-December 9 Deadline

Are you an artistic Catawba Valley Community College alumni, student, faculty or staff member? You are invited to submit samples of your artwork for consideration in the 50th Anniversary NC Community Colleges Art Exhibition and online Virtual Tour.

Four pieces of art chosen by CVCC will be displayed on all six floors of the Caswell Building in Raleigh, which serves as the headquarters for the Community College system.

The exhibit is looking for art directly related to each community college’s “footprint” in history. For example, historical or current prints or paintings that celebrate CVCC’s history.  All media suitable for use in a public office building are welcome, including but not limited to painting, drawing, graphic design, computer design and animation, photography, pottery, stained glass, weaving, woodcarving, metalwork, and sculpture.

The exhibit spaces are well suited to large-scale work. Stained glass pieces for the main lobby, as well as large quilts, weaving and other fabric pieces are requested.

Artists must submit electronic samples no larger than 10MB by midnight, Dec. 9, to Brian Morris, at CVCC, No actual artwork, please. Name and phone number must be included in your email.
