Small Business Center Kicks Off Seminar Series

A new year is just around the corner. Do you have the know-how and resolve to become a small business owner? Catawba Valley Community College offers opportunities to find out.

The Small Business Center will begin its Step Up, Startup seminar series that runs on consecutive Tuesdays through Feb. 8. All seminars will be held in room 1209 on CVCC's East Campus.

"You, Inc." on Jan. 11, explores the differences between being an employee and being a business owner.

"Idea to Opportunity" on Jan. 18 will help turn ideas upside down and inside out to discover competitive advantage and determine ideal markets for products or services. Product packaging, pricing, placement and promotion will also be hot topics.

"Hitting Your Customer Targets" on Jan. 25 will help identify market segments and find core customers. The importance of creating a winning brand for your company will also be emphasized.
