Short Spanish Course Offered for Health-Care Professionals
Catawba Valley Community College's Workforce Development Innovation Center will offer a one-month short course on Spanish for Health-care Professionals on Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m., May 6 through 27 at the CVCC Alexander Center for Education in Taylorsville.
This course will allow family practitioners, physicians, pharmacists, health-care providers, nurse practitioners, ER personnel, hospital administrators, and medical assistants to communicate better in Spanish with customers, clients or patients in a health-care setting.
The instructor is Mary Beth White who teaches Spanish at Alexander Central High School. She holds a bachelor's degree in English education from Western Carolina University and a master's degree in English education from Wake Forest University.
Participants who successfully complete the course will earn 1.2 continuing education units of credit.
The registration fee is $99 and includes the book.
